Muron Prison by Istebrak

Worked on it maybe 8 hours all together, I know longer than usual, but it was a learning experience, my second time trying matte.

I love matte painting, I gotta say, there's so much to do....

The only matte part of the painting is the sky, but I had to paint over the clouds to get them the right shape and color. Everything else is hand painted. The perspective looks kind of off because of the design, if both towers were the same width one would hide behind the other, but thats now how I originally designed it.

Muron Prison is divided into two parts, the wider tower for less offensive prisoners, and the thinner, narrower tower for the dangerous prisoners. This prison was designed to avoid the death penalty by the great, great king of the country, as a mercy. Soon, a soldier will find himself at the gates of the prison looking for a prisoner willing enough to aid in the killing of the enemy, but what kind of prisoner escapes Muron Prison and agrees to a binding contract on a journey to certain death? At the same time, what kind of prisoner of Murons would reject a chance to escape its frozen walls?
